Unveiling of Swedish Trio
Today, the club was finally introduced to its new superstar players. After all the secrecy surrounding the transfer of these players , the manager introduced them to the club at a press conference.
Sven-erik Wallgren, the defender, was giving the number 5 shirt formally won by Alban Turok . Ronny 'the menace' Thiden( well known in his native sweden for his bullying tactics and predatory goalscoring instincts ) , the striker, was giving the number 9 shirt ; this shirt for some reason has never been given to any striker since the new manager took over.Mans Erserman , the club's new goalie, was giving the number 1 shirt formally won by Derek Jordan; with two good youth keepers coming through the ranks, it seems obvious that it's his last season in a utd shirt.
The Times had a chance to get a word from the three new signings each using an interpretor.
'i am here to scare and score.' ---Ronny
'i have nothing to prove to anyone .the manager knows my abilities and am very confident ill fill the position very well.' ----- Mans Erserman (keeper)
'i am very happy to be here and ill do my best to keep up the impressive defensive record the club has . its really cold though.ive been playing in warmer conditions than this so i fell really cold.as cold as my wife ! ' ----- Sven-erik Wallgren (defender)
With the manager's insatiable hunger for success and his keen nose for a good buy the club has no where to go but up.

PRICKLY TIMES: Transfer activity
Shock wholesale Transfers
The past two days have a been a period of great uncertainty within the club. The club has offloaded four players in the space of three days; These include our interview candidate Alban Turok, Edgar van der laan and Francesco Temple. Dutch star striker Kleis Andriessen also failed to impress the manager and has returned to china.
The reasons for letting these players go is not very clear. Most of the fans though were not very pleased with these drastic changes.
'why did he have to sell Alban ? this guy has been one of the most consistent players at the center of defence and as a result we've conceded the least amount of goals in the whole of the campaign.I really don't understand this , rumors also have it that we re in a good position financially.am disappointed .really disappointed.'--- fan
'I kind of like the dutch guy .i thought he was cute and i also heard he was good in scoring goals.its a shame the manager let him go .'-- female fan
The manager being aware of the commotion his decisions have brought to the club agreed to have a short press conference. Here is what he had to say:
PRESS CONFERENCE
'I have been very angry at the way people are talking about these transfer moves. What do they know? I was employed to do my job and am doing it.Who has brought the club success the past two seasons? ME ! and not everybody who watches football on tv and so thinks he is a coach.
Kleiss had to go because of family reasons. He didnt tell me what they were and i didnt ask.I really don't understand why youngsters dont want to just concentrate on their football and just shut up and do what they were brought here to do.Alban was growing bigger than the club so had to go.He started making ridiculous salary demands and with the position the club is in right now we cant afford to make such sacrifices. He's young and hot headed and with time will come to realise that its the coach who is the top dog not players.
''how about francesco temple? why was he sold?'' -- press
Francesco failed to live up to expectation and really i was disappointed with his overall contribution and attitude. He needs to put in more effort and be more aggressive in his play. But saying that we cant have him here on training basis. The club is moving forward and i repeat again cannot afford unnecessary expenses.
''So are we to assume that better players are coming to replace the once that have left?''---press
You have just taken the words out of my mouth.I have successfully negotiated the transfers of three top quality ,hugely experienced players who are going to be with the club for at least one season.Final preparations are underway with documents and other final paperwork .Life in div2 will be very different.Teams are a lot more unforgiven and you get punished for your mistakes and get crushed by superior opponents. We need all the experience we can get.
That is all for now and from now on i hope people will allow me do my job the best way i know how.'
--Manager
The manager was very detailed in giving his reasons for selling the players but one wonders whether all of this would have been avoided if he had taken time to learn about the players. We wait to see who these incoming players are.

PRICKLY TIMES:The season so far
Third Time In A Row ?
After weeks of absence due some problems at the agency , the times is back with a vengeance.A lot has happened since our last issue. The club is in good form winning its last 5 matches. There havent been any new faces at the club which to some is a surprise due to the large number of transfers that had occured in the club since the new manager took over.
Could this be the time the club won three trophies in succession ?
Here is a short interview with the club's manager. We met him relaxing sipping a glass of wine in the club dressing room after their 10-0 dismantling of North Bay Shore AFC (a club record).
times: you must be very satisfied with the current position the club is in .You're top of the league with a superior goal difference and with what some say is a legend in the making or is already a legend, willy workman having scored 35 goals so far. And also the fact that you could be making history with the club by taking them to their third successive trophy
manager: yes i am.its a very good positon the club is in right now and after our win be it a freek result and Gwinn FC losing at home to Onalaska FC ,which was a surprise but nevertheless a good thing for the club, and the current financial position of the club.Every thing seems to be going our way .But in no way does it mean well be getting complacent anytime soon. The boys are more eager than ever , have a great desire and ambition and we intend to keep it that way. Am not here to make history.Just to win as many matches as i can and lose very little. We have been doing that well for the past two seasons; and this season as well.A third trophy would be good for the club and if thats making history then so be it.
times:About willy 'the sniper' workman. tell us about ur personal views about this phenom of a player
manager: I dont think theres much i can add to what uve already seen.Ive always liked willy as a player and as person .He is quiet off field but when he is on the field hes actions speak for themselves. He is currently at top the goal king race with 5 clear goals, so also tip him to take the crown .
times: finally , what are ur plans for the future , since promotion is almost assured. What plans do you have to cope with life in div 2?
manager: we dont plan to make a lot of changes to the current squad we have .Obviously were going to strengthen up in places where we feel inadequate.Thats all i can say for now.Not much decision has been made concerning transfers but this is for certain, the club will only go after proven quality.
times : thanks for your time and good luck with the team
manager: thanks for having me.
A candid interview with the manager but as usual keeping tight lipped about the players he is bringing in. Good times for club ; and to think that the club thought its title hopes had evapourated having been humiliated by Gwinn Fc.
time's tip for transfer
