After weeks of absence due some problems at the agency , the times is back with a vengeance.A lot has happened since our last issue. The club is in good form winning its last 5 matches. There havent been any new faces at the club which to some is a surprise due to the large number of transfers that had occured in the club since the new manager took over.
Could this be the time the club won three trophies in succession ?
Here is a short interview with the club's manager. We met him relaxing sipping a glass of wine in the club dressing room after their 10-0 dismantling of North Bay Shore AFC (a club record).
THE INTERVIEW
times: you must be very satisfied with the current position the club is in .You're top of the league with a superior goal difference and with what some say is a legend in the making or is already a legend, willy workman having scored 35 goals so far. And also the fact that you could be making history with the club by taking them to their third successive trophy
manager: yes i am.its a very good positon the club is in right now and after our win be it a freek result and Gwinn FC losing at home to Onalaska FC ,which was a surprise but nevertheless a good thing for the club, and the current financial position of the club.Every thing seems to be going our way .But in no way does it mean well be getting complacent anytime soon. The boys are more eager than ever , have a great desire and ambition and we intend to keep it that way. Am not here to make history.Just to win as many matches as i can and lose very little. We have been doing that well for the past two seasons; and this season as well.A third trophy would be good for the club and if thats making history then so be it.
times:About willy 'the sniper' workman. tell us about ur personal views about this phenom of a player
manager: I dont think theres much i can add to what uve already seen.Ive always liked willy as a player and as person .He is quiet off field but when he is on the field hes actions speak for themselves. He is currently at top the goal king race with 5 clear goals, so also tip him to take the crown .
times: finally , what are ur plans for the future , since promotion is almost assured. What plans do you have to cope with life in div 2?
manager: we dont plan to make a lot of changes to the current squad we have .Obviously were going to strengthen up in places where we feel inadequate.Thats all i can say for now.Not much decision has been made concerning transfers but this is for certain, the club will only go after proven quality.
times : thanks for your time and good luck with the team
manager: thanks for having me.
A candid interview with the manager but as usual keeping tight lipped about the players he is bringing in. Good times for club ; and to think that the club thought its title hopes had evapourated having been humiliated by Gwinn Fc.
time's tip for transfer
